Finish the Point
Volunteer Dig Day
Saturday, October 24, 2026
1 p.m.

With the Keweenaw Point Trail Montreal segment just a few weeks from complete, we need YOU to help us finish it!
In the early days, CHTC built trail on weekend workdays. Ten or twenty people would head out, spread across the slope, and cut hundreds of feet of tread before dinner. Let's do it that way one more time.
Join us Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m., and let's finish the last 100 feet of the Montreal Corridor segment together.
WHEN: Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m.
WHERE: Mandan Road, just west of the Powderhouse Road intersection. This is where the Montreal Corridor segment ends (map below).
Getting there: Take Clark Mine Road to Mandan Road. If you're coming from Houghton or Hancock, you can take Mandan Road directly. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended. We'll have signs up where the trail comes out on Mandan.
WHAT TO BRING: Work gloves, water, and sturdy boots. We'll have plenty of tools, but if you have a shovel, rake, or McLeod, bring it along.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED: None. If you can swing a tool or carry a rock, you’re on the crew!
